A convoy of Afrika Korps vehicles moving throught the desert. The vehicles normally travelled at intervals of approximately one hundred metres in case of an air attack, which, in the case of this photograph, was apparently unlikely. The convoy is lead by a VW Kübelwagen.

Servicemen of both armies distinguished themselves during the Siege of Tobruk and shared a nickname of 'the Rats of Tobruk'.
