Battle of Britain Memorial

Capel-le-Ferne, GB

A clifftop memorial on the Kent coast overlooking the English Channel, dedicated to the 2,937 aircrew of the **Royal Air Force** and Allied air forces who fought in the Battle of Britain between July and October 1940. The memorial's centrepiece — a seated airman gazing across the strait toward France — commemorates the "Few" who defended Britain from German air assault.
