Museum of the Landing in Sicily 1943

Dedicated to the Allied amphibious assault on Sicily that began on July 10, 1943, involving over 160,000 troops and 3,000 vessels in a single day — the largest seaborne invasion in history at that time. The museum preserves vehicles, weapons, uniforms, and personal artifacts from the campaign that opened the Allied path to mainland Italy.
