USAAF Advanced Landing Ground at Lessay, Manche, near the west coast of the Cotentin Peninsula. Operational during Operation Cobra and the subsequent breakout in late July–August 1944. One of the staging bases for fighter-bombers conducting the carpet-bombing that preceded the breakthrough at Saint-Lô, and later for aircraft supporting the pursuit across France.
