ALG A-3 Cardonville

Calvados, FR

USAAF Advanced Landing Ground built in June 1944 near Cardonville, Calvados, between Omaha Beach and Bayeux. Constructed by IX Engineer Command Aviation Engineers on requisitioned Norman farmland. Served as a forward operating base for tactical fighter and fighter-bomber units supporting the drive inland from the beachhead.
