USAAF Advanced Landing Ground built at Picauville in the Cotentin Peninsula, within the Utah Beach sector. One of the more significant Manche ALGs, hosting multiple P-47 Thunderbolt groups during the Cherbourg campaign and subsequent breakout. The flat marshland terrain around Picauville provided ideal construction conditions for the Aviation Engineers.
