On 1 September 1939, the Wołyń Cavalry Brigade fought off four attacks by the German 4th Panzer Division, destroying or disabling over 50 tanks and armoured vehicles. One of the most successful Polish defensive actions of the September Campaign and a rare cavalry victory against armour.
