Contains 2,958 Commonwealth soldiers — the majority Canadians killed during **Operation Totalize** and **Operation Tractable**, the August 1944 armored offensives down the Falaise road by the **II Canadian Corps**. Many of those buried here fell during the brutal fighting against the **12th SS Panzer Division** (Hitlerjugend), one of the most fanatically-resisted Allied advances of the Normandy campaign.
