A museum at the foot of Monte Cassino, site of the **Gustav Line** battles fought from January to May 1944. Allied forces — including troops from Poland, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, India, Morocco, and Algeria — launched four major assaults over four months before finally breaking through the German defensive line that anchored the Winter Line.
