The training ground at Toccoa, Georgia, where the **506th Parachute Infantry Regiment** of the 101st Airborne Division — including **Easy Company** — underwent basic paratrooper training in 1942. The infamous runs up the 3,360-foot **Currahee Mountain** ("Three Miles Up, Three Miles Down") forged the physical and psychological foundation of the regiment immortalized in Stephen Ambrose's *Band of Brothers*.
