Juno Beach

Courseulles-sur-Mer, FR

The Canadian D-Day sector between Courseulles-sur-Mer and Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, where the **3rd Canadian Infantry Division** suffered the second-highest casualty rate of the five beaches on June 6, 1944. Despite fierce resistance, Canadian forces advanced further inland than any Allied division on D-Day, coming within 3 km of Carpiquet Airfield by evening.
