Krupp Works
Essen, DE
The Krupp steelworks and armaments complex at Essen — the industrial heartland of the German war economy and primary source of artillery, tank armor, and naval guns. The factory complex was repeatedly bombed by RAF and USAAF from 1942 onward. The Krupp firm relied extensively on forced labor, employing over 100,000 concentration camp inmates and POWs by 1944.
