Merville Gun Battery Museum

A preserved German coastal battery stormed in the early hours of June 6, 1944 by the British **9th Parachute Battalion** at a heavy cost — of the original 750 men tasked with the assault, only 150 reached the objective. Four concrete casemates with original guns are open to visitors and reveal the scale of sacrifice the operation demanded.
