The American military cemetery on the bluffs above **Omaha Beach** holds 9,388 soldiers who fell during the Normandy landings and the summer 1944 campaign. Administered by the **American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC)**, it is open year-round free of charge; the coastal overlook offers a direct view of the beach where many of those buried died.
