RAF Biggin Hill

Kent, GB

One of the most important sector stations of **No. 11 Group, Fighter Command** and a primary Luftwaffe target during the **Battle of Britain**. Biggin Hill-based squadrons are credited with shooting down more enemy aircraft than any other RAF station, earning it the nickname "The Strongest Link." The station was attacked five times in August 1940 — twice on the same day — yet remained operational throughout the battle.
