St Vith Memorial
St. Vith, BE
A memorial in the town of St. Vith, which was captured by the German **6th Panzer Army** in the opening days of the Ardennes offensive in December 1944 and held until it was retaken by the **7th Armored Division** and British forces in January 1945. The town was almost entirely destroyed in the fighting and became a symbol of the civilian cost of the Battle of the Bulge.
