Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Educational Purpose
The content provided on TraceFront — including photographs, maps, coordinates, location descriptions, hypotheses, and user-contributed materials — is for educational, historical, and informational purposes only. TraceFront is a community research platform, not an authoritative historical, archaeological, or legal source.
2. Accuracy of Information
Information on TraceFront may be incomplete, inaccurate, unverified, or subject to ongoing community research and revision. Content should not be used as definitive historical, archaeological, legal, or safety guidance. Always verify information through additional authoritative sources before relying on it.
3. No Endorsement of Illegal Activity
TraceFront does not encourage, endorse, or facilitate:
- Excavation or metal detecting without appropriate permits
- Removal of artifacts, relics, or any objects from their original location
- Access to restricted, private, or protected areas without authorization
- Any activity that may violate applicable laws, regulations, property rights, or heritage protection rules
Unauthorized excavation and artifact removal may constitute criminal offences in most jurisdictions. TraceFront explicitly rejects any use of its content to facilitate such activities.
4. User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all local, national, and international laws and regulations when visiting locations, conducting field research, or engaging in any activity related to content discovered on TraceFront. This includes obtaining any necessary permissions, permits, or authorizations before entering any location.
5. Safety
Historical sites — particularly military sites such as battlefields, bunkers, and fortifications — may pose serious physical hazards including unstable structures, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and restricted access. TraceFront content does not constitute safety advice. Always exercise caution and consult local authorities before visiting any site.
6. User-Contributed Content
Users who contribute content (photographs, hypotheses, location data, evidence) are responsible for ensuring they have the rights to submit that content and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights. TraceFront moderates contributions but does not guarantee accuracy or legality of user-submitted material.
7. AI-Generated Content
Users who contribute content created or significantly modified by artificial intelligence must clearly label it as AI-generated. AI tools may assist in research or analysis, but AI output does not constitute verified historical fact and must be presented accordingly. Unlabelled AI-generated content submitted as original research or evidence may be removed without notice.
8. Prohibited Content
Users may not submit, post, or promote content that glorifies, promotes, or incites support for Nazism, fascism, communism, or any other totalitarian ideology. Historical documentation and academic analysis of these movements is permitted; glorification is not. Content constituting hate speech, incitement, or the glorification of war crimes or atrocities will be removed without notice and may result in permanent account termination.
9. Limitation of Liability
TraceFront is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TraceFront and its operators disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this platform or reliance on its content.
10. Changes to These Terms
TraceFront reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
